Dr. Sam Perry is a Teaching Fellow in Chemistry at the University of Southampton, specializing in designing and delivering innovative materials for practical Physical Chemistry education. He holds a PhD from the University of Southampton (2016) and an MChem (Hons) from the same institution (2012). His research focuses on chemistry education, sustainable practices, carbon sequestration, and electrochemistry. Perry has held roles as a Research Fellow at Southampton and conducted research at McGill University, Montréal, focusing on electrochemical corrosion and biosensing.
He is a Council Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2020–2026) and served on the editorial board of Frontiers in Environmental Chemistry (2022). His awards include the International Society of Electrochemistry Early Career Travel Award (2022). Perry’s current projects include enhancing laboratory accessibility for neurodiverse students and exploring electrochemical hydrogen peroxide production. He actively contributes to teaching modules in Physical Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, emphasizing student learning and wellbeing.
