Sam Peng is the Pfizer Inc. - Gerald Laubach Career Development Assistant Professor of Chemistry at MIT and a Core Institute Member at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. His research focuses on developing optical imaging techniques and nanoprobes to study molecular mechanisms underlying human diseases. The Peng Lab integrates single-molecule microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, spectroscopy, and nanomaterial engineering to investigate biological processes with high spatiotemporal resolution.
Research interests include molecular dynamics, protein-protein interactions, and cellular heterogeneity in neurobiology and cancer biology. The lab employs a multidisciplinary approach combining biophysics, chemical biology, and quantitative modeling. Trainees with backgrounds in chemistry, physics, bioengineering, and material science are encouraged to apply for postdoctoral, graduate, or undergraduate opportunities.
