Sam Klug

Sam Klug is an Assistant Teaching Professor specializing in U.S. History. He earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2020. His current work focuses on his forthcoming book, *The Internal Colony: Race and the American Politics of Global Decolonization*, to be published by the University of Chicago Press. His research explores intersections of African American history, colonialism, and decolonization, with a focus on 20th-century U.S. history and global contexts.

His writing has appeared in *Diplomatic History*, *Journal of the History of International Law*, *Politico Magazine*, *Boston Review*, and *Dissent*. His work has been supported by prestigious institutions, including the American Council of Learned Societies, LBJ Presidential Library, Rockefeller Archive Center, and Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.

Research interests include intellectual history, the role of social sciences in Jim Crow America, and the political dynamics of comparison across historical contexts. His articles address topics ranging from Black internationalism to territorial claims and decolonization movements.
