Sam E. Gilbert serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Elementary Education Program Coordinator, and TeachLive Coordinator at the University of Mississippi's School of Education. She holds a B.A., M.Ed., and Ed.D. in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi.
Her research focuses on innovative teaching strategies such as using Rubik’s Cubes to foster grit and growth mindset in elementary students, as explored in her doctoral dissertation. She actively contributes to the Science of Reading through work with the Reading Universe and Mississippi Department of Education committees.
Dr. Gilbert has received the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year award and currently leads community initiatives including the Reading Pals Project at Della Davidson Elementary and chairs the Education and Scholarship Committee for the Junior Auxiliary of Oxford.
