About
Sam C. Collingbourne is a Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Research Associate) at the School of Mathematics, University of Edinburgh, under the mentorship of Dr. Jan Sbierski. Previously, he earned his Ph.D. in 2022 from the University of Cambridge's Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, supervised by Professor Mihalis Dafermos. His doctoral work focused on the Gregory-Laflamme Instability and conservation laws in linearised gravity.
Research Interests: His research explores mathematical general relativity, gravitational physics, and theoretical frameworks governing spacetime dynamics. Key areas include stability analyses of black holes, gravitational wave behavior, and the application of partial differential equations in relativistic contexts.
Contact & Affiliations: He can be reached at sc.collingbourne@ed.ac.uk, and his office is located in Room 1414 of the James Clerk Maxwell Building. Teaching materials and further research details are available via his research page and teaching portal.
