About
Salvatore Stuvard is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics 'Federigo Enriques' of the University of Milan. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Zurich (2017), supervised by Camillo De Lellis, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship as a Bing Instructor at the University of Texas at Austin under Francesco Maggi. His research focuses on the regularity properties and singularities of solutions in Geometric Analysis and Geometric Flows, employing techniques from Geometric Measure Theory, PDEs, and Calculus of Variations.
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, University of Zurich (2017)
- Bing Instructor, University of Texas at Austin (2017–2021)
He co-organizes the Analysis Seminar at the Department of Mathematics since 2024 with Claudia Bucur and Mattia Calzi. Since 2023, he serves on the Steering Committee of the Departmental Center for Training and Research, part of the 'Excellent Departments 2023–2027' initiative by the Italian Ministry. His recent grant, 'Singularities in Geometric Analysis: Minimal Surfaces and Mean Curvature Flows (SiGmA),' was funded under the FIS 2 Starting Grant by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
Upcoming engagements include speaking at the Palazzone SNS (Cortona, 2025), the Regularity Theory for Free Boundary Problems conference (Cervia, 2025), and events in Pisa and Vienna, focusing on geometric variational problems and calculus of variations.
