About
Salima Aroua serves as a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Le Havre, Normandy, France, affiliated with the SEBIO research unit (UMR-I 02: Environmental Stress and BIOmonitoring of aquatic environments). This joint laboratory operates under the University of Le Havre, University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, and INERIS (French National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risks).
Her research investigates environmental pollutants' impacts on aquatic vertebrates with specialized focus:
- Mechanisms of endocrine-disrupting molecules' action sites
- Effects during larval development in marine fish (e.g., sea bass)
- Neuroendocrine pathways in pollutant response
- Reproductive system interference by chemical contaminants
Based at Le Havre's Biology building (25 rue Philippe Lebon), she utilizes SEBIO's multidisciplinary resource centers including Biochemistry-Physicochemistry, Cell biology-cytometry, Molecular biology-microbiology, and the Mobicyte experimental platform. The unit maintains dual-campus operations with Reims facilities supporting integrated environmental stress research.
