Saiful Islam

Saiful Islam is a Doctoral Researcher in the Doctoral Programme in Computing and Electrical Engineering and holds an External Position as Research Scientist at the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI, NLS) since 2019. He earned his Master of Science (Technology) in Information Technology in 2019. His research focuses on satellite navigation techniques, resilient software-defined GNSS receivers, and algorithms for detecting/mitigating signal interference and anomalies.

Education: M.Sc. (Tech.) in Information Technology (2019).

Research Interests: Islam’s work emphasizes advancing GNSS receiver resilience, spoofing detection, and multi-frequency/multi-constellation navigation systems. He collaborates on datasets like the FGI-SpoofRepo, contributing to open-source tools for analyzing spoofing impacts. His publications address maritime navigation challenges, software-defined receiver optimization, and acoustic-based positioning systems.

Collaborations: Active in global geospatial research, with contributions to IEEE and peer-reviewed journals. His work bridges academic research with practical applications in navigation security and environmental acoustics.
