Dr. Said Sahel is a faculty member at the University of Bielefeld's Faculty of Linguistics and Literature, Department of German Studies. He serves as Head of the German Studies program (Curator), Erasmus Representative for German Studies, and Contact point for recognition of Bachelor and Master German Studies.
His research focuses on linguistic creativity, particularly examining creative language phenomena and their limitations in German and Romansh languages. As project leader for A06 in SFB 1646: Linguistic Creativity in Communication, he investigates the emergence and boundaries of creative language use through the project 'Emergence and Limits of Creative Language Use: Failed Creativity in German and Romansh'.
Dr. Sahel teaches multiple German linguistics courses including Basic Module: German Linguistics, Profile module: German linguistics, Basic module linguistics, Language and Context, and German Studies Portal. His teaching spans foundational and advanced linguistic theory with particular emphasis on language structure and application.
