Sahar Alameh is Assistant Professor of STEM Education at University of Kentucky, researching scientific explanation construction and Nature of Science understanding in K-12 education. Her work develops frameworks for teaching and assessing scientific reasoning.
With PhD from University of Illinois, she examines how students and teachers perceive quality explanations. Current NIH-funded projects integrate wastewater surveillance into environmental health curricula, developing modules that connect epidemiology to science standards.
Honors include SSMA Early Career Scholar Award and science communication fellowships. She leads initiatives promoting antiracist STEM education through curriculum reform.
