Dr. Safiyah Rochelle is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Science at York University. She specializes in contemporary political and legal theory, critical visual and race studies, state violence, and the intersection of law, violence, and marginalized populations. Her work examines racial governance, redress after state violence, and spatial boundaries of mourning for victims of mass violence.
