Sadiq Bhanbhro

Dr. Sadiq Bhanbhro is Senior Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University's Centre of Applied Health and Social Care Research, leading the Maternal and Infant Health Research Group. Founder of the Medical Anthropology and Sociology Research Network and co-lead of Anti-Racism Research Group.

Research Focus:
Examines intersections of culture, gender, health and climate through ethnographic methods, with emphasis on maternal health, honor-based violence, and anti-racism in healthcare systems.

Projects:

• Wellcome Trust Accelerator Award on maternal nutrition/climate risks in Pakistan
• UKRI-AHRC Nursing Narratives project on racism during COVID-19
• Global Challenges Research Fund network for maternal health

PhD Supervision: Pakistani palliative care access, healthcare labor division, refugee psychosocial needs.
