Sabrina Smith is an Assistant Professor of Latin American History at the University of California, Merced, affiliated with the Department of History & Critical Race and Ethnic Studies and the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. Her research focuses on intersections of race, gender, and the African Diaspora in Colonial Latin America and slavery studies. She holds a Ph.D. (2018) and M.A. (2014) in History from UCLA, and a B.A. (2006) in Anthropology and Spanish from UC Santa Barbara.
