Sabrina Pospich

Sabrina Pospich is a Project Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology in the Structural Biochemistry department. Her work bridges biochemistry and physics to study the 3D structure of silk proteins and actin filament dynamics.

Research Focus: Dr. Pospich investigates silk proteins (spidroins/fibroins), their mechanical properties, and spinning processes using cryo-EM and tomography. She also explores actin filament regulation, stabilization by toxins, and structural transitions during ATP hydrolysis.

Publication Trends: Her recent studies (2017–2022) emphasize cryo-EM analysis of actin complexes, protein assembly, and synthetic materials. Topics include malaria parasite actin instability, optojasp photoswitch interactions, and force generation in actomyosin systems.
