Sabrina Marchetti is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She holds roles as President of the University's Equal Opportunities, Employees’ Well-being and Inclusion Committee, and Deputy Coordinator of the GEP Team. Her research focuses on migration studies, gender dynamics, and the sociological analysis of cultural processes. She has contributed to projects like DomEQUAL (on domestic work inequalities) and I-CLAIM (enhancing migrant living conditions in Europe).
Teaching includes courses on migration, citizenship, and family sociology across programs like Lavoro, Cittadinanza Sociale e Interculturalità and Environmental Humanities. Research interests include the gender-migration nexus, intersectionality in rights movements, and vulnerabilities in asylum systems. She has authored entries in encyclopedias and edited volumes critiquing vulnerability frameworks in migration policies.
Current research explores irregular migration, domestic labor rights, and postcolonial public discourses. Her work bridges academic analysis with policy advocacy, emphasizing ethical and social justice dimensions of migration governance. During 2024-2025 research leave, she continues projects remotely while advising select students who have taken her courses.
