Sabine Kirchhoff

Prof. Dr. Sabine Kirchhoff is a Professor of Press and Media Relations at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, based in the Faculty of Management, Culture and Technology. She holds a Diplom in Social Sciences from the University of Wuppertal (1984-1989) and a PhD from the University of Dortmund (1992-1994). Prior to academia, she worked as a journalist and in public relations for institutions like the University of Dortmund and the City of Osnabrück.

Her research focuses on digital communication strategies, social media impact, and organizational communication. Notable projects include the Binnenforschungsschwerpunkt PACE (Potentials of Ambient Communication Environments), examining interactive technologies for organizational communication, and studies on digitalization's effects on urban retail and small business adaptation. She also led the eBusinessLotse Emsland initiative, providing SMEs with guidance on social media and internet law.

Prof. Kirchhoff’s work bridges theoretical and applied research, emphasizing practical solutions for media strategy, crisis communication, and ambient technology applications. Her collaborations include Stadtwerke Osnabrück, Hölscher Wasserbau GmbH, and regional enterprises.
