Saajidha Sader is a Lecturer in the Department of Social Justice & Education at the School of Education, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). She holds a PhD in Education & Development and has over two decades of experience in teaching and curriculum development, particularly in Social Justice Education. Her roles include designing programs like the Advanced Certificate in Education (ACE): Values & Human Rights in Education and leading initiatives such as the National Department of Education's ACE project. Sader is also a founding member of the International Network on Gender, Social Justice and Praxis, organizing major international events like the 2010 seminar with Prof. Sandra Harding (UCLA), the 2012 colloquium on Higher Education with Prof. Carlos Torres, and the 2016 Gender and Higher Education Symposium with Prof. Penny Jane Burke.
Her research focuses on feminist methodologies, globalization's impact on higher education, gender equity, and inclusive pedagogies. Teaching specialties include Social Justice Education, Gender Studies, Critical Race Theory, and Human Rights. She has contributed to peer-reviewed journals on topics ranging from financial aid access in higher education to disability inclusion in schools.
Sader’s work bridges academic and policy spheres, emphasizing participatory approaches to educational reform. Her projects often involve cross-institutional collaborations, including partnerships with the HSRC, University of Pretoria, and the University of Newcastle’s Centre of Excellence for Equity in Higher Education.
