STEVEN WEST

STEVEN WEST is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice at Oklahoma State University's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. He holds an MS in Tourism Management from Canberra, Australia (2005), a BA from the University of Tulsa (1982), and a postgraduate qualification in Migration Law from the University of Sydney (2002). His professional career spans over three decades in hospitality management, including roles as Hotel Director at the Choctaw Nation, Assistant General Manager at Hyatt Regency Tulsa, and Director of Hotel Operations at Oklahoma State University.

Research interests focus on hospitality operations, revenue management, resort development, and international hospitality studies. He actively teaches courses like Hotel and Lodging Operations (HTM 2643), Revenue Management (HTM 4453), and Applied Revenue Management in Hospitality (HTM 5263). Recent grants include the Hyatt University Academic Grant (2024).

Professional honors include two consecutive President's Volunteer Awards (2022–2023). His academic contributions are complemented by extensive industry experience, including leadership roles at Oaks Hotels and Resorts and Eaglesun System Products. He has also held teaching positions in Australia, such as Head Lecturer at William Blue International Hotel Management School (2000–2002).
