Prof. S. Ravi P. Silva is a Distinguished Professor and Interim Director of the Institute for Sustainability (IfS) at the University of Surrey, leading transdisciplinary sustainability research. He also directs the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) and heads the Nano-Electronics Centre (NEC), with over 160 researchers. His academic roles include Visiting Professorships at Dalian Technology University and Wuhan University of Technology. Silva holds numerous fellowships, including FREng (UK), FCAE (China), and is a CBE honoree.
Education: Completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, with a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Fellowship and affiliation to Clare College.
Research Focus: Nanotechnology, renewables, and large-area electronics with emphasis on solar cells (perovskite, organic), carbon nanomaterials, and energy sustainability.
