S. Raquel Ramos

Dr. S. Raquel Ramos serves as Associate Professor at Yale University School of Nursing (primary appointment) with a secondary appointment in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Yale School of Public Health. A former nurse clinician with over a decade of experience in critical care, interventional cardiology, SGM health, long-term care, and HIV clinical research (including protocol nurse for The Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study), she directs a research program focused on technology-driven behavioral interventions for chronic disease prevention in health disparate populations.

Her educational background includes a PhD from Columbia University and an MSN, MBA, and BSN from Purdue University. Her research integrates public health modeling and data science to develop scalable interventions addressing systemic inequities, with particular emphasis on sexual and gender minority communities and HIV-affected populations.

Dr. Ramos has secured over $10 million in funding through two NIH R01 awards and foundation support to test behavioral interventions targeting chronic illness prevention. Her work demonstrates how digital health tools can bridge gaps in underserved communities while advancing health equity frameworks.
