Róbert Urbán

Róbert Urbán is a Professor at the Department of Personality and Health Psychology within Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Hungary. His academic roles include membership in the Scientific Committee, Faculty Doctoral Council, Habilitation Committee, and Faculty Council. He holds a Doctor of Science (DSc) degree and leads the Health Psychology Research Group.

His research focuses on health psychology, addictive behaviors, mental health outcomes, and psychometric instrument development. Key interests include gaming disorder, substance use motivations, well-being measurement, and eco-psychological responses to environmental crises. He has developed questionnaires like the Gaming Motivation Inventory (GMI) and explored burnout among teachers, celebrity worship, and vaping-related health perceptions.

His recent work addresses pandemic-related behavioral non-compliance, stigma in mental illness, and the motivational underpinnings of digital addictions. He collaborates internationally on topics ranging from ADHD comorbidity to cross-cultural healthy eating motivations.
