Ryanne Flock

Ryanne Flock is a Research Associate (Postdoc) at the University of Würzburg, affiliated with the project "Social Worlds: China’s Cities as Spaces of Worldmaking". Her research explores urbanization in China and Sinophone Malaysia, focusing on the interplay between space and society, including public space governance, urban poverty, and housing as a mechanism for social ordering.

Her work examines everyday governance through case studies of street vendors, fortune tellers, and beggars, while analyzing housing practices across state, pop-cultural, and professional discourses.
