About
Ryan Werner is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Colorado State University Energy Institute within the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University in 2024, where his research focused on experimental studies of drop-wall impact phenomena and fuel vaporization to improve numerical simulations of liquid fuel droplet behavior.
At CSU, he works on developing advanced laser diagnostic techniques for detecting trace hydrogen gas emissions in industrial settings. His research spans experimental fluid dynamics, combustion diagnostics, and clean energy technology applications.
- PhD (2024) and BS (2018) in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University
- Expertise in laser-based sensing methods for energy and environmental systems
- Collaborates with Dr. Yalin and Dr. Windom at CSU Energy Institute
