Dr. Ryan Olson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation at the University of North Texas. He joined UNT in Fall 2016 after earning his B.S. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Wyoming and his Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from Rutgers University.
His research focuses on Sport and Exercise Psychology, utilizing psychophysiological techniques such as electrocardiography (ECG) and electroencephalography (EEG) to identify neural biomarkers of disease. He investigates how acute and chronic exercise impacts neurocognitive function and mental health, particularly in at-risk populations like concussed individuals and those with obesity.
