Ryan Lindsay, a Professor at the Washington University in St. Louis Brown School, specializes in advancing evidence-based mental health treatments and suicide prevention. He chairs the Mental Health concentration in the Master of Social Work (MSW) program, where he mentors students pursuing careers in behavioral health. Lindsay completed a post-master’s fellowship in Psychiatry and Social Work at the University of Michigan Health System, enhancing his expertise in therapies like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD.
His career spans both public and private sectors, driving him to co-found Sparlin Mental Health in 2009 to improve community access to trauma-informed services. Lindsay is a Certified DBT Therapist, a trainer in Motivational Interviewing, and a leader in school suicide prevention policies. He founded the Hope Policy Academy and contributes to the St. Louis Regional Suicide Prevention Coalition.
