Ryan Hum

Ryan Hum is a Clinical Research Fellow and Specialty Registrar in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine at The University of Manchester’s Centre for Musculoskeletal Research. He holds a PhD focused on transcriptomic studies of synovial inflammation in psoriatic arthritis, funded by the Wellcome Trust and multiple grants. His academic background includes an MBChB (2018), MRes in Experimental Medicine (2023, Distinction), and ARCT music diploma (2012).

Research interests span rheumatology, immunology, and bioinformatics, with a focus on genetic mechanisms of psoriatic arthritis. He has published on topics like musculoskeletal ultrasound applications, genetic susceptibility, and multi-omics analysis. Awards include the BSR Best Case Report Award (2022) and Lennox Holt Trophy (2023).
