Ryan Crowley

Ryan Crowley serves as Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky, where he has been a faculty member since 2014 after completing his Ph.D. at The University of Texas.

Prior to academia, he taught secondary social studies for eight years in Houston and Austin public schools. His educational background includes doctoral training focused on social studies education and teacher preparation.

His research centers on critical race issues in education, specifically:

• How novice teachers integrate critical understandings of race and racism into teaching practices
• Analysis of how social studies curricula address (or neglect) race and racism
