Ryan Adams

Ryan Adams is a Professor and Interim Dean at the College of Engineering & Mines of the University of North Dakota. He has held leadership roles including Associate Dean for National Security and Director of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His research focuses on electromagnetic wave propagation in complex media, antenna design, and numerical simulation techniques.

• Education: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (2007), M.S. in Electrical Engineering (2005), B.S. in Electrical Engineering (1999), and B.S. in Applied Mathematics (1999) from the University of Idaho.

His research spans topics such as:

• Antenna Theory for cellular and medical applications
• Microwave circuit design
• Wave propagation in ferrites, metamaterials, and chiral media
• Development of numerical schemes for electromagnetic simulations
• Integration of artificial intelligence in engineered materials

Dr. Adams previously served as Associate Department Chair at the University of North Carolina Charlotte and as an active-duty U.S. Air Force officer with roles in program management and aircraft maintenance.
