About
Dr. Ruthie Angelovici is an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri's College of Arts and Science. Her research focuses on the genetic and metabolic control of seed amino acid composition, employing GWAS, functional genomics, and bioinformatics to understand metabolic networks in plants. She investigates how amino acid networks respond to environmental changes and evolutionary constraints, aiming to improve crop quality through breeding and biotechnology.
Her research integrates:
- Genetic architecture of seed traits under environmental stress
- Metabolic network modeling in plants
- Evolutionary adaptations in seed development
Honors include:
- David B. Dunn Award (2023)
- College of Arts and Science Teaching Award (2021)
- Arthur C. Neish Young Investigator Award (2020)
- Jen Junior Faculty Research Award (2020)
She leads a research group at the Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center investigating seed metabolism through advanced molecular techniques.
