Dr. Ruth Webster is an Assistant Professor of Synthetic Chemistry at the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge, where she joined in 2023 after starting her independent career at the University of Bath in 2012. She is a Fellow at her college and focuses on homogeneous catalysis, particularly unusual phosphorus motifs and Earth-abundant iron chemistry for atom-efficient bond transformations.

Her research explores reaction mechanisms and sustainable chemical processes using cost-effective metals. She has received multiple prestigious awards, including the Royal Society of Chemistry's Sir Edward Frankland Fellowship and the Philip Leverhulme Prize.
