About
Ruth Serra-Moreno is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University, where she has been a tenure-track faculty member since 2014. She previously held positions at Harvard Medical School, including Junior Group Leader (Instructor) from 2012–2014 and postdoctoral fellow from 2008–2012.
Her research focuses on molecular-level host-HIV interactions, particularly how HIV evades innate cellular defense mechanisms to establish infection. This work aims to inform the development of improved antiviral therapies to prevent HIV progression to AIDS.
Dr. Serra-Moreno earned her doctorate summa cum laude in 2007 from the University of Barcelona, Spain.
