Ruth Magowan is the Head of the Division of Nursing and Paramedic Science at Queen Margaret University (QMU) and holds the position of Senior Lecturer. She also serves as the Omega Xi Chapter Treasurer. With a background in both clinical practice and academia, she has worked at QMU since 1997, teaching on undergraduate nursing and MSc programs, while maintaining her clinical role as a Paediatric Endocrine Specialist Nurse at the Borders General Hospital.
Her qualifications include an MSc, BSc (Hons), RGN (Royal Grammar School Nurse), RSCN (Registered Sick Children’s Nurse), and PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education). She is affiliated with organizations such as the Foundations for Nursing Studies, Scottish Paediatric Endocrine Group (SPEG), and the Edinburgh Nursing Society. She organized TEDxQMU in 2015 and 2017.
