Ruth Lingard is a Lecturer in the Department of Education at the University of York. She is currently Head of History at Millthorpe School, York, and actively involved in promoting inclusive history education. She co-authored a textbook exploring a diverse history of 20th-century Britain and coordinates York Clio, a network for local history teachers, while leading the York Branch of the Young Historical Association to provide student enrichment.
