Ruth Gordillo, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern and Director of the UT Southwestern Metabolic Phenotyping Core. She is also a faculty member at the Touchstone Diabetes Center. Originally from Badajoz, Spain, she holds bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry, as well as a doctorate in science and chemistry from the Universidad de Extremadura. Her postdoctoral training included organic chemistry at Universidad de Extremadura and physical organic chemistry/computational chemistry at UCLA.
Dr. Gordillo's research focuses on developing LC/MS/MS technologies for metabolite quantification and spatial lipidomics/metabolomics using mass spectrometry imaging. She has been at UT Southwestern since 2011, contributing expertise in analytical chemistry and metabolic profiling.
