Ruth Friedmann

Ruth Friedmann is an Event Lecturer specializing in Tourism, Hospitality and Events with over twenty years of experience developing and delivering more than 30 event, venue, and festival management subjects across academic institutions including UTS, TAFE NSW, and private colleges. Her teaching philosophy centers on bridging theoretical frameworks with real-world industry practice through learner experience design.

Her research explores event management systems, resilience in higher education, AI integration and digital literacy pedagogy, and cultural festivals as transformative counterspaces. Leveraging professional experience with Sydney's Royal Botanic Garden, Centennial Park, Sydney Festival, and Mardi Gras, she incorporates industry insights through guest speakers, behind-the-scenes site visits, and practical tool development to enhance student career readiness.
