Dr. Ebach's research centers on prophecy in the Old Testament, with specific focus on unfulfilled prophecy, false prophets, and identity construction in ancient Israel as reflected in Deuteronomy. Her work integrates biblical theology with Ancient Near East studies, examining how prophetic concepts shaped Israelite self-perception within their cultural environment.
She received the KHK Visiting Research Fellowship (2019-2020) for her project on unfulfilled prophecy and false prophets. Since January 2017, she has served on the Steering Committee for the Pentateuch section of the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL), contributing to international biblical scholarship.
