Ruth Beeston is Professor Emerita of Chemistry at Davidson College. She teaches courses in inorganic and analytical chemistry, with expertise in chemical analysis of archaeological samples.

Research focuses on synthetic chemistry and archaeological sample analysis, including organic residue analysis of ancient shards, soil analysis in archaeological contexts, synthesis of polypyridine ligands, photochemistry, and electrochemistry. Additional teaching includes General Chemistry and Chemistry of Art and Artifacts.
