Russell West-Pavlov

Prof. Dr. Dr. Russell West-Pavlov holds the Chair of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures at the University of Tübingen's Faculty of Humanities. His research focuses on Global South cultural and literary studies, with expertise in Australia, Africa, and the Caribbean. He co-convenes the MA Cultures of the Global South and teaches in Comparative Literature. Key roles include founding board member of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Global South Studies and co-convener of the BMBF/DAAD-funded Thematic Research Network (2015-2020). He has established the Doctoral Consortium Global South and chairs the book series Transdisciplinary Souths (Routledge).

Education includes doctorates from the Universities of Cambridge (UK), Lille (France), and a senior doctorate from Cologne (Germany). Previous roles include professorships at Free University of Berlin (2002-2011) and University of Pretoria (2011-2013).
