Dr Russell Manfield is a Senior Lecturer and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the School of Business, University of Queensland. With a background in mechanical engineering from UQ, he transitioned from mining and telecommunications into technology, agri-tech, and workplace training. His teaching focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, and strategy, complemented by online courses on corporate innovation, quantum technology strategy, and 21st-century work skills. His research explores sustainable value frameworks for new ventures, design thinking for innovators, and entrepreneurial resilience in emerging economies.
Dr Manfield holds a PhD in Organizational Resilience (2016) and is an Associate Investigator with EQUS (Engineered Quantum Systems), an ARC Centre of Excellence. His publications span resilience theory, quantum education, gender entrepreneurship in Oman, and workplace skill development. He emphasizes practical pedagogy, including engaged assessment design in entrepreneurship education.
