Ruqu Wang

Ruqu Wang is a Professor of Economics at Queen's University, Canada, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science. His research focuses on Auctions, Mechanism Design, Dynamic Games, and Behavioral Economics. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Fudan University and M.A./Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University.

Wang has served as Professor at Queen's since 2001, with visiting roles at the National University of Singapore (2004-2005) and the University of Colorado Boulder (2003-2004). He has received the Department of Economics Award in Research Excellence (2002-2003).

His research explores theoretical and applied aspects of auctions, contests, and game-theoretic models. Recent work includes studies on backward discounting, optimal prize allocation in contests, and signaling mechanisms in auctions. He has led numerous SSHRC-funded projects on topics like dynamic auctions, coalition formation, and sunk costs.

Wang's academic service includes editorial roles at Annals of Economics and Finance, B.E. Journals in Economic Analysis and Policy, and Frontiers of Economics in China.
