Rupert Lorraine

Rupert Lorraine serves as Director of The Arts Institute at the University of Plymouth, leading strategic initiatives in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business. He drives interdisciplinary collaboration, placemaking, and knowledge exchange, focusing on leveraging creative industries and emerging technologies like AI. His work spans £20M+ in funded projects including iMayflower (£5.9M), South West Creative Tech Network (£6.5M), and Cultivator (£2.6M).

Rupert’s research explores AI ethics, generative AI applications, strategic negotiation, and SME innovation. He regularly presents at events like ARMA UK and NCACE, advocating for responsible AI adoption in education and business. As a Collaboration Champion for NCACE, he facilitates partnerships between universities and cultural organizations.

Leadership roles include membership in Faculty Management Group, Research Committee, and University Procurement Reform Group. He mentors entrepreneurs and teaches Masters-level workshops on AI in digital marketing.
