Ruoxi Song

Ruoxi Song serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at Macalester College, specializing as the Chinese Language Lab Instructor. Her role integrates technical language lab support with direct pedagogical instruction.

Her academic credentials include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Huaqiao University
• Master’s degree in Second Language and Culture Education from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities

With over ten years of experience across heritage, immersion, and world language programs, Song implements a student-centered, innovation-driven teaching methodology. Her philosophy prioritizes inclusive engagement, cross-cultural understanding, holistic student development, and real-world language application. Office hours are held Wednesdays 2:30pm–3:30pm and Thursdays 11:00am–12:00pm in Humanities Room 107.
