Dr. Ruohan Tang is a Teaching Professor at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, specializing in screen production, visual effects, and immersive media. His research focuses on virtual reality (VR) documentaries, sound visualization in VR environments, and promoting equality in documentary production. He co-leads the Global Smart Lab’s AR/VR Fitness Education Platform project, integrating motion capture technology for accessible wellness training.
His professional experience includes roles as a post-production and international producer, notably for the documentary film *Invisible Summit* (2023). He teaches in the MA Global Media Management program, leading modules like Critical Media Practice and Digital Media Production. Dr. Tang has been recognized with a Bronze Award from the Sixth National Young Scholar Forum of Film Studies (2019).
Current projects include a VR Sound Gallery exploring sonic representations of 'genius loci,' set for publication in *Convergence: The International Journal of Research into New Media*.
