Rumman Khan

Rumman Khan is a Lecturer in Economics and Econometrics at Keele Business School (Keele University) since 2021. Previously, he held positions as a Lecturer at the University of Bristol and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Nottingham. He earned his Master’s and PhD from the University of Nottingham, with his doctoral thesis titled *Essays in Poverty and Household Analysis in Africa* (2017).

His research focuses on Development Economics, particularly applying microeconometric methods to analyze household welfare and livelihoods in Sub-Saharan Africa using nationally representative surveys. Key themes include income diversification’s impact on welfare, poverty reduction dynamics, and agricultural sustainability.

His publications address topics like pseudo-panel estimation techniques, rural livelihoods in Tanzania, and Uganda’s household welfare trends. Recent work explores why economic growth in Africa has not sufficiently reduced poverty.

Rumman teaches courses such as *The British and Global Economy*, *Contemporary Issues in Economics*, and *Advanced Microeconomics*. He actively supervises PhD candidates in Development Economics and Applied Microeconometrics.
