Rudy Lugo-Rios

Dr. Rodolfo Lugo-Rios (known as Dr. Rudy) is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at California Lutheran University (CLU). He holds a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and maintains active roles as a clinician, clinical supervisor at an Intensive Outpatient clinic, and Captain in the US Army Reserve (Clinical Psychologist, 73B). His academic journey at CLU included induction into Psi Chi (honorary psychology society) and serving as its chapter President.

Dr. Rudy specializes in clinical psychology with focus areas including veteran issues, trauma processing, addiction recovery, and integration of Existential/Mindfulness-Based Interventions. His career spans diverse settings: community mental health clinics, psychiatric inpatient units, primary care (oncology, hematology, family medicine), and military psychology.

He currently teaches psychology courses at CLU while maintaining clinical practice and military service, with past experience in behavioral consultation for children with social deficits.
