Ruben Gallo

Ruben Gallo is the Walter S. Carpenter, Jr., Professor in Language, Literature, and Civilization of Spain at Princeton University. He serves as Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Cultures and has directed the Program in Latin American Studies since 2008. His academic credentials include a B.A. in English from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Columbia University.

Professor Gallo specializes in Latin American Studies with interdisciplinary research spanning:

• Twentieth-century cultural movements
• Avant-garde literature and art
• Psychoanalytic theory (particularly Freudian studies)
• Transatlantic intellectual history
