Ruaida Mannaa

Ruaida Mannaa is a Professor of Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), holding this position since 2024. She also serves as an artist at Illozoo (2018–present) and has freelanced as an illustrator and designer since 2016. Her work spans commercial and educational publishing, with notable clients including Running Press Kids, Capstone Publishing, and Scientific American.

She holds an M.F.A. in Illustration from SCAD and a B.A. in Graphic Design from Universidad Del Norte. Earlier roles include Lecturer for typography and illustration at Universidad del Norte (2024), Lecturer for digital design (2019–23, 2013–16), and Graphic Design Program Coordinator (2013–15). Her design projects include work for Memorias de El Prado and MAPUKA Museum of Archaeology.

Mannaa’s research interests focus on children’s literature illustration, cultural storytelling, and the intersection of graphic design with narrative art. Her projects like the Farah Rocks series and Baba, Why Do You Drink Coffee? exemplify her commitment to multicultural representation and educational narratives.

She was a finalist in the 2022 Bienal de Ilustración, highlighting her recognition in the field. Her academic contributions include teaching typography, digital design, and illustration techniques, alongside her active freelance and publishing career.
