Rozemarijn Roland Holst

Dr. Rozemarijn Roland Holst is a Lecturer in International Environmental Law at the University of Edinburgh School of Law and member of the Edinburgh Centre for International and Global Law. Her research focuses on international law of the sea, climate change law, and environmental governance, examining intersections between law, science, and technology, global commons, and international organizations.

Education:

Her research projects include a Leverhulme-funded initiative on global commons governance by international organizations. She serves as legal counsel to the Commission of Small Island States in advisory proceedings on climate change before ITLOS and ICJ, and as a member of the Dutch North Sea Council's Scientific Advisory Committee.

Research output trends address ocean-climate legal integration, marine resource governance, innovation in environmental law, and conflict resolution in maritime disputes. Publications appear in journals like Journal of Environmental Law, Leiden Journal of International Law, and PeerJ.

Teaching: Contributes to the University of Edinburgh's LLM programme in Global Environment and Climate Change Law. Accepts PhD proposals in her research areas.
