Dr. Roy Pemberton is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science and Biosensing at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences (HAS). He holds a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology from Bristol University and a PhD in Viral Immunology from the University of Sheffield. After postdoctoral research in immunology at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in London and York University, he joined UWE in 1995 as a researcher in biosensing.
- Teaching modules include: Foundation Biology, Infection & Disease (L1 virology & immunology), Microbiology (L2), Human Health & Disease (L2 Applied Immunology), Antimicrobial Agents (L3 & M), Research Projects (L3 & M), and MSc Bio-engineering.

His expertise spans microbiology, immunology, biosensing technology, and electrochemistry. Research focuses on biosensors and their applications in biomedical contexts.
