Roy Kamida

Roy Kamida is a Lecturer of Accounting at the School of Accountancy within the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BBA from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. His professional background includes roles as a Professor Emeritus at Leeward Community College (University of Hawaii System), a licensed CPA, and former partner at Kamida, Okazaki & Company, CPAs. He has also served as a tax specialist at Alexander Grant (now Grant Thornton LLP).

His expertise spans accounting education, taxation, and professional accounting practices. He teaches courses such as ACC 200 (Introduction to Accounting I) and ACC 399 (Directed Reading and Research).

Roy has received numerous accolades, including the University of Hawaii Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching and the Carl Perkins Community Service Award. He remains active in professional organizations like the American Institute of CPAs and Hawaii Society of CPAs.
